Sweat bees inhabit woman’s Eyelid!

A Taiwanese woman came to the emergency room with a painfully swollen eyelid only to discover that she had four sweat bees dwelling under her eyelid.

Doctors were startled to find the tiny insects, which are only 3 to 4 mm long.

The woman had been visiting a relative’s grave site where she believes the bees blew into her eye. Sweat bees typically nest near graves and fallen trees and can be drawn to human perspiration for its salt and moisture.

The doctor was able to successfully remove the undesired guests from the woman’s eye and determined she was suffering cellulitis and severe corneal erosion but the woman is expected to make a full recovery.
